THIS FRIDAY: Sounds of Fiery Chicago Blues to Join Columbus Jazz Legends
Posted on July 26, 2016
Chicago is one of the few cities that still cherishes its true blues roots, and Omar Coleman is one of those authentic players striving for dynamic musical expertise. Nestled in a tight pocket of distinct blues, this premier harmonica player will be joined by some of Columbus’ all-star musicians—The Byron Stripling Blues Band, Bobby Floyd, Derek DiCenzo and Jim Rupp!
Replicating a voice soulful beyond his own years, Coleman has blown away audiences around the world with his fiery harmonica skills. From San Francisco to France and Brazil to the St. Louis Blues Festival, Omar has garnered a fan base that propelled his debut album in 2015 to the blues charts where it still sits at #15. A cool summer evening with loved ones paired with the hot licks of Coleman’s music, combine for an evening that you won’t want to miss!
Columbus-native Sean Carney will open the evening. A one-man ambassador for the blues, Carney’s sophisticated masters of tone and his band have won numerous awards throughout the world. Having traveled the world to share his passion, Sean is highly regarded for his pure talent, respect of blues tradition, and his humble and gracious nature.
