Posted on August 20, 2013
Gaining the hearts of country rock fans around the country since 1977, McGuffey Lane brings their talents back to their central Ohio roots in Bicentennial Park this Friday at 9:00 p.m.
McGuffey Lane’s high-energy rock, country and contemporary music have been attracting attention throughout Ohio and the Midwest for nearly twenty years. But this veteran band remains fresh and innovative, redefining itself with an infusion of new talent that blends perfectly with the bands established style. The band got their magical ‘break” when they were playing at The Ohio State campus in the fall of 1980 and gained the attention of Atlantic Records. McGuffey Lane has built their career on music which has been both artistically and commercially successful, leading the group to tour with The Charlie Daniel’s Band, The Judds, Marshall Tucker, and The Allman Brothers.
The evening will open with the sultry country voice and mature writing styles of Jonalee White & The Late Nite Drivers. Boasting an energy and passion for country music that will draw you in and bring you back for more, Jonalee White & The Late Nite Drivers have acquired a significant fan base performing with artists such as Dierks Bently, Charlie Daniels and Taylor Swift all over the United States. The group consists of Columbus based musicians Michael Nugen, Molly Pauken, Kay Harris, Pete Cary, Nate Hollman and Barry Damron.
