THIS FRIDAY: An Evening of Bluegrass
Posted on July 22, 2013
Join us for an evening of bluegrass with Lonesome River Band and Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out!
Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out is one of the most popular and influential groups in bluegrass. Featuring the International Bluegrass Music Association’s most awarded male vocalist, their rich vocal harmonies and superb instrumentation has garnered more than 50 industry accolades since their inception.
Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out has been recently focusing on their “Timeless Hits From the Past Bluegrassed” CD for Cracker Barrell Old Country Stores while travelling to perform at venues across the country.
Performing this Friday along with Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out is Lonesome River Band. After 30 years in the business, Lonesome River Band continues to deliver powerful, driving bluegrass with a rock-influenced edginess that distinguishes its music from any other. Featuring the remarkable banjoist Sammy Shelor, perhaps the most influential banjo player of his generation, they are truly one of the greatest bands in bluegrass.
In 2012, Lonesome River Band achieved the IMBA Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year Award for “Angeline the Baker.” Sammy Shelor, also received his fifth win as the IMBA Banjo Performer of the Year. Lonesome River Band also had the privilege of performing with Steve Martin on The Late Show with David Letterman.
