Recognized around the world as the premiere Chinese acrobatic touring company of today, the Golden Dragon Acrobats are sure to bring a performance of breathtaking skill and spellbinding beauty to Bicentennial Park. The Golden Dragon Acrobats continue to represent a time honored tradition that began more than 25 centuries ago. Through a combination of award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance, authentic costumes, and a variety of music and effects, the Golden Dragon Acrobats never cease to amaze an audience.
Officially established in 1967 by Lien Chi Chang, the Golden Dragon Acrobats are currently produced by Danny Chang and choreographed by Angela Chang. Since 1985, the Golden Dragon Acrobats have performed in all 50 states and present about 200 shows each year across the U.S. The company is most honored to have performed in the nation’s capital, twice at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and for a six-week engagement at Ford’s Theater in Washington, D.C.
As a seven-time recipient of the National Association of Campus Activities Entertainer of the Year Award, the Golden Dragon Acrobats also received the honor of Campus Activities Today’s Performer of the Year. Most recently, the talented acrobats have been nominated for two prestigious New York Drama Desk Awards for their Broadway appearances.
