FountainSide Fun Challenge: Inspired by Miss Ohio Sarah Hider
Posted on June 3, 2016
It’s finally summertime on the Scioto Mile, and you can bring the sun and fun home. Check out the Scioto Mile blog all summer long for a weekly FountainSide Fun Challenge. Our community partners will share and inspire an array of hands-on activities, crafts, and games for family-friendly fun at home all summer long.
This week’s FountainSide Fun Challenge comes from Miss Ohio Sarah Hider who will host a DIY crown workshop at FountainSide. Before earning the title of Miss Ohio in 2015, Sarah Hider was crowned Miss Maple City in Norwalk, Ohio. This week, we challenge YOU to create your own giant maple leaf using a recycled paper bag. Use the guide below to draw your leaf and decorate it however you like.
Need a snack while you create? Whip up a quick and healthy Maple-Almond Granola.
Join Miss Ohio, Sarah Hider at FountainSide Wednesday, June 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.!
In addition to splashing in the fountain at Bicentennial Park, we’ll celebrate summer on the Scioto with Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, act out summer scenes with Dramatic Impact, and dive into learning with The Turtle Lady.
Additional activities this week are hosted by St. Vincent Family Center, Franklin County Soil & Water, OSU Urban Arts Space, Lowe’s and Local Matters!
