FountainSide Fun Challenge: Inspired by Capital Area Humane Society
Posted on June 10, 2016
This week’s FountainSide Fun Challenge comes from the Capital Area Humane Society who will have their mobile animal shelter in Bicentennial Park on June 15.
Although many of us have furry friends at home, some animals do not get the love and care that they deserve. With knowledge and compassion, Capital Area Humane Society treats dogs, cats and other animals like their own pets until they’re able to find a forever home. This week, we challenge YOU to create your own cat mask! Cut the pieces for your mask, and even experiment with creating other animal masks.
Need a snack while you create? Check out these 19 healthy animal inspired treats!
Join the Capital Area Humane Society at FountainSide Wednesday, June 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
In addition to splashing in the fountain, we’ll walk on the wild side with the Ohio Wildlife Center, test your baseball swing with the Columbus Clippers and create crafty critter finger puppets with Franklin Park Conservatory.
Additional activities this week are hosted by Thurber House, Child Development Council Head Start, Macaroni Kid, Lowe’s and Local Matters!
Check out the Scioto Mile blog all summer long for a weekly FountainSide Fun Challenge. Our community partners will share and inspire an array of hands-on activities, crafts, and games for family-friendly fun at home all summer long. Warmer, sunny afternoons mean more visits from the outside friends in our own backyards!
